Hi everyone! Thank you for all of the lovely mail that I have received these past few weeks! It has been super crazy with finishing up my courses and applying to more schooling for the fall. This summer I'll be officially done my undergrad and then I'll be going to school in the fall to study GIS mapping for my biology career - super excited! Now that things are slowing down again, you'll see more of me on here again :) I love this community!

Re-uploading this from earlier tonight - there was a mistake in the original post so it was removed.

Here are some photos of the cards mentioned in this post.

u/bluedecmberart Thank you for the cute holiday card and ā€œsave the [polar] bearsā€ sticker! Iā€™m happy that you liked the one that I sent you a while ago :) Since I study biology, I really enjoy getting stickers related to protecting the environment. I hope that you are doing well! Thanks again for exchanging!

u/Rainey7888 Thank you so much for the awesome Star Wars card and stickers! These made my day! Ahsoka Tano is so cool :P Rosario will do her justice ā€“ I love how tough she is in Daredevil and Zombieland. Ahsoka definitely embodies empowerment so thank you for picking out this card for me :) Great choice! I hope that you have been doing well and that your mailbox is always full of happy mail! I sent something back on April 8th.

MYSTERY Thank you for the lovely Valentineā€™s Day card! Iā€™m not sure what your username but if you think that it might be you, please comment below. I have the mailing info and will send a card back this week. So sorry! I tried looking up that name through RaOC but to no avail. I loved the Victorian style drawing on the card ā€“ especially because I am currently taking a course about literature from that time :) I canā€™t imagine getting an outfit like that on (so many layers) every day lol. I hope that you had a wonderful Valentineā€™s day and thank you again for the surprise card. Hopefully someone/you recognize this card and can be tagged.

u/soxgal Thank you for the cute homemade card and stickers! I loved that the pink card matched the envelope. A fiddlehead tastes kind of like the tip of asparagus except the whole thing is that flavor/texture. Itā€™s cool because you can feel the baby leaves on the plant. I love them so much that I hate sharing them hahaha my favorite food. I wish that they were available throughout the year. They have to be completely cooked so that people donā€™t get sick and we can only eat one species ā€“ the ostrich fern. It has been cold here too this winter. This week we had some warm weather though! Today was about 14 degrees Celsius so I got to sit in my yard with a t-shirt and no coat. Plus our crocuses are starting to pop up! Yeah, the damp cold weather bothers my knee that I injured when I was seventeen too. I sent out a card on April 14th!

u/stephkempf Congrats again on hitting 2k cards sent! Hoping that I get to that amount one day! My project this spring/summer is to separate my received cards by country. I want to make a list of all the countries, states, and provinces that Iā€™ve received and sent to :) I can only imagine how many cards that you have at home! Any recommendations for sorting?

u/stephkempf Thank you for the cute Sesame Street card! I love the boba tea sticker that you used to close the envelope ā€“ one of my favorite drinks :) There are only a few places that sell that here in Nova Scotia, but Iā€™ve made at home a couple of times. It is super refreshing in the summer. I hope that you are doing well! Thank you again for the surprise card!

u/stephkempf Thank you for the Valentineā€™s Day card! And no worries about running out of the other cards ā€“ I love getting surprises in the mail ā€“ it is a lot of fun :) Super nice of you to send me two cards in return :) I sent something off in the mail to you on April 8th :)

u/nuhgnap Thank you for the kitty card and geographic stamps from China! This was sent at the end of August and just made its way to Canada recently :) I hope that your cats are doing well! The five of ours have given us a lot of entertainment over the cold winter. Luna is our youngest and turned 1 year old last month ā€“ she is such a goofball. She plays fetch and meows at us until we play with a laser pointer with her. She even knows where we store it and sits there until we come over hahaha. Thanks for swapping with me!

u/56Thorns Thank you for the surprise card! I sent one back to you :) Today we had a big rainstorm with some cool thunder and lightning. I prefer that over snow any day! Also, I love that you used the new Canadian stamps that have the paw prints under blacklight ā€“ those ones are super cute. I hope that you are doing well and enjoy the card that I sent.

u/dreameater_baku I love the goofy Kalus postcard. The fangs are adorable! I kind of have fangs too ā€“ they were really pronounced but I have been straightening my teeth since the Fall, so I am not as much of a vampire now lol. By the way, your handwriting is super pretty! That is crazy that you have been having such cold weather. We are finally starting to warm up here in Nova Scotia, so we have been getting more rain than snow (whoo-hoo!). Vaccine rollout has been slow, but it is starting to ramp up. In NS about 5% of the population has gotten it. My age group (~25) is supposed to get it in the middle of June. My immune system is not great, so I am excited to get the vaccine. Feel lucky that our case numbers have been so low in Atlantic Canada compared to the rest of the country. I have been doing the same thing as you to keep myself occupied. I have started playing video games a bit more which is a nice break from staring at my computer doing homework lol. I have not watched The Sopranos yet ā€“ my parents loved that show. I was too young when it was airing for me to watch it plus it was on at a late time. Right now, I am watching Snowpiercer, New Amsterdam, The Resident, and The One (it reminds me of Black Mirror). I listened to the song that you included (Mystery of Love) and really liked it ā€“ very peaceful for working on schoolwork. A band that I like is AJR and they just came out with a new album on March 26th. Also, Half-Alive is another great band :) I hope that you are doing well!

u/pjv2001 Thank you for the beach card :) I am looking forward to it being warm enough that I can enjoy going to the beach again. The water is so cold here that it usually takes until July or August until I can bear going into the ocean lol. The Oregon coast sunset looks so pretty :) I hope that you are doing well!

u/yeahlikecarlos1 Thank you for the cute bear and skunk card :) I think that Iā€™ve seen these cute comics when Iā€™ve been browsing on Imgur. By the way ā€“ I love the stamps that you included. My favorite one was the shiny one that looked like a computer motherboard. Thanks for including the date and weather on the card ā€“ the time was a cute touch! Itā€™s fun to look back on that :) The weather stamp that you used was neat! Cool to talk to someone else on Postcrossing. I love that site and met some great people through there. My favorite feature is the distance travelled one. It is crazy how far some of the matches go! My highest was over 10,000km! Lol yeah Iā€™m the same way with picking up as many stamps as possible. Thereā€™s less options for postage in Canada than the US so that limits my spending habits a bit lol. I hope that you are having a wonderful day!

u/gummibearhawk Thank you for the gorgeous postcard! It would be so cool to get to visit that town one day. The view of the mountains and water looks amazing :) Hopefully I can visit Italy sometime! So far Iā€™ve only been to Punta Cana in the Dominican ā€“ this was back in 2018 with a friend. There is so much of the world that I want to see :) My mom and I would love to do some backpacking once everything goes back to normal. I hope that you are well!

u/necropolis- Thank you for the pretty botanical card! Purple is my favorite color :) Also, I love the texture of the card ā€“ it feels fancy :P Hope that your first year of uni has been going well! This hobby has helped me a lot with relaxing between schoolwork too. Iā€™m just finishing up my undergrad and have been applying to programs for September. My kitties definitely have given me some good laughs during the pandemic. Our youngest, Luna (1 year old), loves playing fetch and is obsessed with the laser pointer. My university has been posting student and faculty pet photos and Luna made the cut. Maybe you can do video calls with your pet Pluto when you move :) I would be happy to swap again :) Hope that you are doing well! Best of luck with exam season!

u/luxsloth Thank you for the botanical card and stamps! I didnā€™t know that Canada had these stamps! I love the Canadian White Star one :) It reminds me of all of the origami that I used to do ā€“ Iā€™ve always loved fiddling with my hands lol. I used to make a zillion little origami stars and write messages in them. They make fun cushions for delicate things when doing reddit gift exchanges too :) I gave Luna some cuddles from you :) She actually got featured on my universityā€™s website last month they were doing a thing where they were posting pets of students and faculty. Also, I love the little kitty drawings that you included on the card! I hope that you are doing well!

u/luxsloth So sorry for the late posting! I really appreciate the cards that you sent me! The handmade Valentineā€™s Day card was so cute and creative! The washi tape and stickers were adorable too <3 I love trying new crafting supplies for my cards :) Iā€™ll have a card out to you this week! So cute that you did a little kitty drawing in this card too :) Iā€™m happy that you had fun exchanging with me ā€“ I had a ton of fun too (school has just been crazy lately with assignments and applying for programs for the fall). Iā€™ll include some goodies in the card that I send too. Hope that your mailbox has been nice and full!

u/xJaneDoe Thank you for the adorable cacti and succulent card! I love how it is embossed with the pattern :) It makes so happy getting plant cards in the male <3 By the way, your handwriting was immaculate! I had to do a double take to determine if it was printed lol. Thank you for the well wishes about graduation :) I am currently applying to programs for the fall and crossing my fingers. I hope that your undergrad has been going well ā€“ so close to the end of the semester! Lol yeah school readings have kept me busy too when it comes to reading for fun. I have done a little here and there. Mostly poetry which is easier to finish a poem in a short period of time. Right now, Iā€™m reading Home Body by Rupi Kaur. I really like the feel of the book too ā€“ it has texture to the cover that it kind of grainy. I have not read any of the books that you recommended but they are on my list! I watched The Martian and Ready Player One a few years ago so it will be like Iā€™m going into it fresh. I read the first Narnia book a while ago and loved the world. Havenā€™t read Lord of the Rings yet ā€“ feel like that will be when I have time to binge it since it is in-depth. Iā€™ll have to check out The Last Unicorn. Iā€™m pretty sure that Iā€™ve seen the movie but havenā€™t read the book. Iā€™ve only read a few romance books, but my favorite is Ella Enchanted. The movie is good too :) I hope that you are doing well! Best wishes for the remainder of the semester! Iā€™ll have a card out to you this week!

u/xJaneDoe Thanks for the cute ā€œawesome youā€ card! Lol wow I really did fall behind on my card entries on reddit! Sorry!!! I love the little Valentine goodies that you included :) Aliens and sharks are the perfect combination! Your cursive is just as pretty as your print handwriting :) I love doing cursive but donā€™t do it too much since Iā€™ve encountered many people that struggle reading it. I love the look of it and working on trying calligraphy. I think that would be a lot harder to do without practicing cursive. This summer I am working on getting my license! I have my Learners right now and practicing driving :) I would love to be able to do some road trips to the beach this summer or to go hiking. Lol after the cold winter Iā€™m ready to spend a lot of time outside. Happy very belated Valentineā€™s day!

u/Cosplay-gurl Thank you for the cute kitty postcard and botanical stamp! It always makes me happy to get cats in the mail :) Iā€™m sending you good vibes too! I hope that you have been having a great day!

u/ReinaKelsey Thank you for the super sweet Valentineā€™s Day card! I absolutely loved all the stickers that you included <3 So many kitties! Iā€™ll have something out to you this week :) And you were right, it did arrive on V day! Lol I just have been so busy that I didnā€™t have time to do a post (sorry!). It made me super happy opening up my mail to your card :) I tried to get some chocolate on sale the day after V day and they sold out within the morning. It was surprising because itā€™s a small area ā€“ I think that they just didnā€™t have a lot in stock to begin with. Bernardā€™s chocolate is my favorite but it isnā€™t in Atlantic Canada. I loved going to that place when we lived in Calgary <3 My fave one was these milk chocolate hearts that were filled with fresh strawberries and a cream filling. So good! Ugh now I want some hahaha. I hope that you were able to find some yummy chocolate!

u/finishingthetea Thank you for this gorgeous card from around the world! I was blown away by how pretty the metallic flowers were! Plus the blue floral envelope that you sent it in was so pretty :) Thank you for picking out botanical things for me <3 I LOVE anything to do with plants so that was super sweet of you. I also loved that you included some info about the plants on the card :) Thereā€™s so many around the world that I am still learning about (thousands and thousands). One of my favorite plants that we have here in Nova Scotia is the purple pitcher plant. It is a deep purple and they ā€œeatā€ bugs. Iā€™ve seen them in the wild :) I hope that you are enjoying the new year! Thank you again for the card! Iā€™ll send you one this week!

u/szedecrem Thank you for the kitty-themed postcard! I loved cat washi tape too :) This card it TOTALLY what my youngest cat, Luna, does. If we are holding her and show her her tail, she will chomp away at it and then lick it. She also goes in circles when she sees it move lol itā€™s like she hates her tail xD her personal toy that she takes everywhere. My favorite are the butt wiggles before cats pounce at something. Thanks again for the card! I have one going out to you this week!

u/cookbree Thank you for the amazing homemade card! I love that you personalized it for me with kitties, plants, and my favorite color (purple). It was such sweet surprise to see all your creativity! I used to love reading when I was younger too but then started watching TV to relax instead of books (found it easier to wind-down after school/work than reading). Iā€™m slowly getting back into it though :) Right now Iā€™m reading Home Body by Rupi Kaur ā€“ it is a collection of poems. I read her other two collections earlier this Winter. Iā€™ve never read Wild before, so Iā€™ll have to check it out! The weather has been good lately :) I was able to sit outside without my coat on a few times the past couple of weeks. I love siting outside for an hour to have my coffee in the summer (soon!). A card is coming your way this week!

u/DebStone Thank you for the postcard from the snail mail contest! I sent out a card to you on April 1st :) Lol The Tick was one of my favorite shows growing up ā€“ it was super goofy. I love that you picked out a card with a spoon on it for me! I hope that you are doing well! :)

u/bananacreampiee Thank you so much for the cute card and little goodies! It was sweet to see an origami kitty! I used to do origami all of the time ā€“ it was my favorite thing to fiddle with my hands. I always had a bunch on my desk in school. Now I decorate postcards to fiddle lol. Those stickers that you included were super cute! I sent a card back on April 14th! I appreciate the well wishes for finishing up my degree :) I virtually took part in my grad ring ceremony today which was exciting. Iā€™ll get my certificate this spring and my undergrad this fall. Iā€™m doing a double major in Biology and English, with a certificate of specialization in organic agriculture. Iā€™m also in the works of applying to other schools for the fall so that I can study GIS ā€“ I plan on using that with my botany career. All of this has kept me just a little busy hahaha. I hope that your Masterā€™s has been going well! Your degrees sound super cool! I might do an advanced diploma in GIS and then do a Masterā€™s afterwards. It would be cool to work in the agriculture or forestry industry! I love how similar our hobbies are!

u/tinawebmom Thank you for the homemade kitty card! It was super cute! Cats make amazing pets :) I also loved all of the stickers and instant snow! Iā€™m going to make the snow tomorrow night with a friend :P It brought back fun memories of doing science experiments like coke and mentos in the bathtub hahaha. That was always a ton of fun. Thatā€™s super cool that your sister raises goats! I have been mentioning to my parents about getting a duck ā€“ they are very sociable. I used to use goats milk for baths and it was amazing for my skin (I have eczema so it is always dry). Goats milk soap would be great! Our chickens are pretty funny too ā€“ our favorite thing to do is put cut tomatoes on the deck and they will talk to each other to tell the others where the food is. They make some silly noises and enjoy cuddling :) I hope that you are doing well! Iā€™ll send a card your way!

u/M0NK3YKLNG Thank you for the cool Tokyo Tower postcard! I never knew that this existed! It is also cool that you took this photo yourself to turn into the card. I hope to get to visit Japan one day ā€“ I have a few friends that moved there from Canada. I get what you mean about not enjoying the heat of summer. I love that season but it can definitely get quite sweaty. I used to live in Alberta and the heat was a lot drier than it is in Nova Scotia. Here, the heat sticks to you because we are by the ocean. I hope that you are having a great day!

u/diffitt Thank you for the lovely cards! It was so cute to open the envelope and find a card within a card and so many cute stickers! Iā€™ll have something sent your way this week! It has slowly been warming up here but today it down poured and then we also got some snow. Lots of flowers have been popping up which is nice because it means that summer is just around the corner. Iā€™m currently working on getting some plants ready to go for the garden. Last summer I grew tomatoes, beans, and a variety of hot peppers. Super sweet of you to include a pack of tea for me to try! I hadnā€™t tried this type before ā€“ I always have at least one cup of tea per day. I absolutely loved that you picked out a kitty and plant card for me. Plus all of the stickers suit my interests perfectly (nature, reading Gilmore Girls, and tea). I hope that you are doing well!
