Ok so Im not 16. A girl can dream, cant she?

People always say treat yourself, do something nice for yourself. Well this is what I did, request birthday cards and pretend to be 16 again. (I may have bought myself a couple of ink pads for stamping but we wont talk about that) I am very grateful to all of you for making my birthday a wonderful one with many reminders that this world is still full of kind, beautiful people. I am blessed to have found this sub and to be able to interact with all of you.

u/ribeyecut LOL, I do the same thing in my garden. This spring I planted lots of golden poppies and only got two little plants that actually blossomed. Oh well they are still pretty.

u/jiamekare thanks for the birthday wishes. I didn’t know it was National Paranormal day. That is hilarious. Luckily, I was born right before it. A few days after, on “Cinco de Mayo” is my anniversary. So there is that day too.

u/katier127 my kids and I have a tradition for my birthday. Since my late husband’s was a few days before mine, my kids come see me on the Sunday between my birthday and his and we go visit the cemetery then after that we go to Shakeys for pizza and mojos! I know it’s a weird tradition but we’ve been doing it for a few years now and I plan on having Shakeys for years to come. J

u/nixotiza the robin is a great bird. I would like to take up bird watching. Birds are probably my favorite animal. Those who know me know I love birds. The hummingbird is my favorite but I could also stare with my mouth open at large birds of prey flying above for hours.

u/gigi700gigi (X2) unfortunately yes, I am an insomniac but like you, I also love mornings and for the same reasons, the peace, the quiet even the scent is different. Good luck with your yard. I have to get around to weeding my little flowerbed too.

u/aepeyc my favorite birthday treat is seeing my kids all together. That never gets old (unlike me, sigh) It makes me happy to be with them since they are all grown now and I don’t see them every day anymore. Aside from that, I’d say flan is a good 2nd. J
