Hello all- long time no post. I was grateful to be so active in this community last winter especially during the holiday season when so many of us could send each other holiday wishes and pass on encouragement to others. Sending packages of cards to nursing homes and care facilities was extremely meaningful. RAOC was an very welcome and appreciated activity when gyms and most businesses shut down again when there were Covid spikes in our area.
I had to stop for a while because cost wise it was adding up, but it was so much fun to get mail from all around the country and to have my place filled with holiday cards and well wishes of all kinds.
The past six months have been some hard lessons in setting boundaries; letting go; taking risks; and learning to stop giving time and energy to others who would not be willing to do the same if I needed help. I got a rough lesson in learning the difference between people appreciating me for who I am versus what I can give or do.
I got a really rough lesson that sometimes we need to see people for who they are and appreciate red flags / not always trying to give people the benefit of the doubt. And as much as I believe what we give comes back to us, I need to get better at saying no. I got a hard lesson in stop giving to those who are just takers and would set no limit on my kindness.
I do believe everything works out for me for my highest good; and if something doesn't work out it means something better is coming in its place. And I do believe in life there are lessons not mistakes (even if you have to repeat the lesson). And that sooner or later things catch up to people.
I would love some surprise, encouraging, happy, silly, thoughtful, fun mail. I am open to receiving anything. I am posting as a request for now because I am out of cards and quite honestly suck at making my own (my handwriting makes my cards look like ransom notes). I hope to fall back in love with sending as the summer progresses.
Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.
