I have read the interpretation of dreams by Freud when I started studying psychology, I think it's an interesting read, but it's not necessarily up-to-date as in that I think scientifically we have not found a lot of evidence for Freud's theory (as with quite some of his other theories). However, I think Freud is always very interesting also from a historical perspective and many of his ideas were highly influential.

/u/b4nkrupt Thanks for the lovely card, I love how you made the balloons! I have tried lucid dreaming, I can do it sometimes but not very often. Lucid dreaming will actually be part of my next study, we are trying for people to get lucid in the laboratory and then do specific tasks in their dream. But it's hard because even if people lucid dream a lot there is no guarantee that they will during the lab night.

I have to say I am quite lucky since I live in the same house as my family I was still able to see them, so I could have a small celebration after all, but it was really nice to extend it with all the cards from around the world, it made it feel like a much bigger celebration!

My guilty pleasures are definitely that I have an enormous sweet tooth and I indulged in it quite a bit this birthday (I got some chocolates from a friend which I ate most of already and my boyfriend baked a lovely cake!) and now it's going straight into easter chocolates!

I agree with the reddit gifts, I partook a couple of times, but I often enjoy the sending out more than receiving (for a lot of the categories I just really have no need) and sadly through some redditors going really over the top I feel that most have too high expectations of what they will get. Nowadays I am making more care packages for friends that e.g. live alone during the pandemic.

Sadly at the moment I don't think I have time for a penpal - I used to have a lot, but now postcards are much better for me because they are limited in space and if I get the possibility I tend to write a lot and then I never have enough time to write the letters! The other thing also is that I will actually be moving from Switzerland to the Netherlands soon!
