Thank you, u/A_Rank_Amateur for the postcard and for mentioning Marcel Dzama! I wasn't aware of him and your suggestion led me to look at lots of his work online. The flatness of it and the folk references actually make me think of manuscript miniatures in medieval Christian and Islamic art...this probably isn't actually one of his sources of inspiration, but I love that kind of work!
