Edit:
OMG, I'm overwhelmed with all the love for The Mouse and your responses. I wish I'd bought more postcards. I'm going to send out all 8 I have and will hopefully find some more soon :-)
Thank you for participating <3

Let's celebrate the 50th birthday of German national treasure Die Maus (The Mouse) with postcards and matching stamps!
It's the hero of the most popular TV show for kids "Sendung mit der Maus" (Show with The Mouse). The subtitle of the show is "Lach-und Sachgeschichten" (Laughing and Learning Stories).
Each show consists of several segments, the Lachgeschichten purely to amuse, and the Sachgeschichten (non-fiction stories), short educational features on a variety of topics, such as what must be done before a plane can take off or how holes get into Swiss cheese or the stripes into toothpaste. These are punctuated by a short cartoon with the Mouse, often with one or more of its friends, Elephant and Duck.
The introduction consists of a few bars of the theme and a German voice-over describing the topics in that week's show. The voice-over is then repeated in a foreign language.
Mouse has visited a lot of places in its 50 years. It even went to the ISS with German astronaut Alexander Gerst.

I'm offering 5 postcards for now. The design will be chosen at random (not all of them are pictured above).
If you'd like to receive one, please comment with your childhood hero.
Be it a TV character, like Mouse, or someone from your favorite movie or book, or someone from real life maybe your grandma or a teacher.
I'll choose the recipients some time tomorrow and will contact you then for your info.

How does a letter get the cancellation mark
(I think you can learn something even without understanding German, otherwise you can enjoy Armin's soothing voice :-) . Already a few years old and not the best quality, sry)
(No language skills necessary, Mouse and his friends do not speak)
