[Thank You] long time no thank

Post Body

I've collected quite a few bits of mail and it's time to work on my thank you posts. Sadly, I won't have photos this time because my potato phone and Imgur aren't playing nicely right now. I think I have another stack of cards in the house, so if your thanks isn't included here I'll be doing another post later today.

In no particular order:

  • /u/schwahawk - thank you for the adorable bird & flower card. The Halloween stamp is amazing; I hadn't seen it before.
  • /u/radboi001 - your animal stickers are wonderful, thank you! I appreciate your words from Austria and the extra blank postcard.
  • /u/dysney420 - holy sticker explosion! I'm looking forward to using these for future cards I send out. I think I'm going to have to keep the dragon ones for myself. Your handwriting is so tiny! I wish I had that kind of control in my writing.
  • /u/mandy-valentine - your origami skills are impressive. I love how you used all different kinds of colors and textures in your thank you card. I've never seen a paper crane in a card before :)
  • /u/L_eggo - your Don Quixote card is amazing. I think I have a copy of the book in Spanish that I need to bring myself to read sometime. I've read the English translation a few times. I can't believe you've never read it!
  • /u/gracie_zitro - your card-making skills are swoon worthy. I love all the different textures and how you put everything together. Did you also make the crown envelope? I should learn how to do more with pockets and envelopes because they really do add to the card. The bookmark and stickers will be put to good use.
  • /u/sassalfras - It's so hard for me to pick a favorite author. For years I gobbled up everything I could find by Stephen King and Piers Anthony. The most fantastical stories I've read so far have been A Song of Fire and Ice by JRR Martin. I watched a bit of the Game of Thrones series but had to stop when it started getting too divergent from the books. I can only hope he'll finish writing the books instead of stopping with the TV series.
  • KA with an NC postmark - thanks for the vintage Halloween postcard. I did Google the custom by using the search term "blindfolded cabbage patch hunt" and came across a Google Books result from something titled The American Agriculturist. According to this, it was a Halloween game called "pulling the kale stalk" whereby each participant would go blindfolded into the field and retrieve the first stalk stumbled upon. The overall size of the stalk, the amount of earth at the root, and the taste were supposed to provide insight into the stature, fortune, and temperament of one's future spouse.
