I live with my partner and our two best friends. We've lived together for nearly 6 years now and are basically a family. Things have been hard lately for all of us, between being stuck at home for the past 7 months (one of my housemates and I are both very high risk) and everything going on in our country (fellow Americans, you feel me, right?).
And now, yesterday, we found out that our boxer only has about three months left to live. We've known for a few months that she has a brain tumor, but her health has been doing fairly good up until now, and it was easy to pretend that she was okay. But now her health is declining more rapidly, and this is the first time we've been given a timeline.
We're taking it alright, all things considered (we lost my 17 year old dog and our 11 year old rabbit within the last two years, so this isn't our first rodeo), but it's still incredibly hard. This was my housemate's first dog (she was their service dog originally, but long story short she's just a beloved pet now). She's not that old, either. We were definitely unprepared in a way that we weren't with the other two pets we lost.
I feel like I'm rambling now. But yeah, if anyone would like to send us some happy mail, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, lovely people.
