Card Haul

A big thank you to all the people I've recently exchanged with!

/u/DNA_ligase - yay Xmas in July! What a cute snowman. That's super rad that you celebrate Diwali! I went to a cultural celebration at a sort of cultural celebration during the winter holidays a few years ago that had a ton of different cultural celebrations and holidays with those who practiced it explaining/education and showing examples and I always thought that all the candles/lights with Diwali was one of the prettiest. Austin is pretty weird, so says the city slogan, lol. It's kinda evened out over the years since it became a sort of tech mecha and is becoming like a silicon valley which is sad because it's significantly less weird now and more stuffy and corporate.

/u/catnamedchicken - I love the tropical print on the front, reminds me of FL and how my mom used to have huuuuuge hibiscus plants everywhere. I'd love to have more houseplants but my cats aren't at all trustworthy so I don't have any indoor ones. But since I'm in TX, cacti love it here and I love them!

/u/katier127 x2 - Thanks so much for both state cards! I've been to St. Louis once when I was pretty young but I DEFINITELY remember that arch and how huge it was. I used to ride those type of paddlewheel boats when I lived in FL because they're everywhere and I always thought they were relaxing. Living in TX I've been to OK maybe three times? Mostly as a stopping point for travelling through it because it takes so damned long to get in/out of TX lol - I've also never been to anywhere there that had buffalo [I wish I had though]. One of the times I went to OK though I went to the Museum of Osteology and it was sooooooo cooooool

/u/rebeldisco - Yer a Wizard, 'arry! Thanks for the HP card. What's your House? I'm a Ravenclaw

/u/round_squirrel - Thank you for the flora card! I really like the sort of old school looking scientific illustrations of plants. I feel like I'm so over the summer heat in TX already but it's only going to get worse now that we're in August -_- [and it's been a pretty mild-ish year except for a few spikes] - Also 4 kitties?! I thought i had my hands full with 2! [granted they're both senior kitties, but still] Though who am I kidding, if I could adopt more I would <_<

/u/jamiesayss x2 - Thank you for both cards! The concept art/illustration is super cute and I loooooove the Jupiter/Io card. Also LOL about sending two cards, I've literally done the same thing before too. I've had one IN MY HAND thinking I dropped/lost it. -_-

/u/travellincat - Thanks so much for the kitty card! That's almost exactly the expression my older cat [she'll be 16 in Oct!] gives me when she's very unimpressed that her dinner is late even by 60 seconds. I also work in the tech industry! Hopefully you've been able to work remotely as well with everything going on. I also like to write out everything since I barely get to anymore being on a computer all the time though it's crazy to think about how weak my hand has gotten since I was in school because it cramps so easily now when I write

/u/bluedecemberart - I love this card! It's both Winnie related and reminds me a lot of Alice in Wonderland. It's very cute. And I'm glad you like Austin! It's definitely an experience. Also you're absolutely right, when it's springtime and the roads are surrounded by blooming wildflowers, it's absolutely beautiful. I will say though, the yearly obsession that is Texans and taking pictures with fresh-bloomed Bluebonnets is kinda weird. I've seen like, zombie-crowds of people shamble across highways and roads, nearly getting hit by cars [and do end up getting hit by cars every year] to take pictures with the bluebonnets, and every year a ton of people get bitten by snakes while doing so too! - Rattlesnakes included! I've always wondered if there's some kinda like... paranormal attraction to bluebonnets, kinda like The Happening or something LOL. And you can't visit TX without going to HEB! [and Buc-ee's too]

/u/yourstruly19 - Huh, that's weird that you're hearing some weird noises out there. Did it sound something like... ch ch ch ah ah ah or ki ki ki ma ma ma? If so... RUN! lollllll - I LOVE this card - it makes me want to find all sorts of horror setting postcards and see if there are postcards for them. Thanks so much!

/u/mionnn - I love that this card kinda reminds of like... flower power 60's flower patterns lol. That's awesome that you lived in Austin! I've visited Houston quite a few times, and I loooooove the Museum District. I've been wanting to go to the Funeral History Museum there for a super long time, and was actually planning to do another Houston trip with some friends for this year... and then the pandemic happened. :T
