First I need to apologize for this extremely tardy thank you. In this time of uncertainty it's hard to guess if cards are being received and if the recipient is ok. I'm sorry for not being prompt at acknowledgement of the kindness and love sent my way. If I've thanked you before for your card think of this as more gratitude.
Well, since things have gone sideways in our world, I just want all of you to know that I'm well and still commuting in to work. We have relocated 95% of the people in my building to work remotely. Those of us left are the core group to keep the equipment functioning on site. Things may not look flawlessly pretty as usual, but we are still managing 6 hours of live news every weekday morning. Today is the first day in almost 2 weeks that I've gotten a lunch break. It's been a steep technology curve to get everyone out and still be able to work as a team.
Just wondering- For those of you with elderly parents or relatives... Have you had difficulty keeping them in and taking this seriously? OMG! The stress I've had making them realize that they are in the high risk category and to STAY HOME. After a long discussion with his parents ( Las Vegas residents), one of my coworkers called his parents and found them at a casino. Yes, this was before the state ordered them all to shut down. Crazy!
u/Valkyriescry This glow in the dark postcard reminds me so much of a Harry Potter patronus image. I immediately charged it in the sun and then took it in to the closet. My husband doesn't just think I'm nuts, he's say he's quite certain that I am now. There will be a rare pink moon tomorrow that I am hoping to see. It may be quite similar to the image on the postcard as the moon will be closer to the earth than normal and look much larger. Thank you for such a fun card!
u/tilders This beautiful spider weevil illustration is so cool! I just love botanical and insect illustrations. Back when they couldn't document things with photography there were so many talented artist. A local Botanical garden has a library of rare books with many such illustrations. As much as I enjoy seeing these in art form, I'm not so keen on personal interaction with large insects. They provoke a rather interesting form of body movements and vocalizations.
u/sunnybumbebe A very belated Happy Valentine's Day to you too. Nothing say LOVE like the Valentine Beaver and a shower of red hearts. Hahaha! Of course, adding a cupcake, candy and taco stickers definitely say I Love You louder.
u/canameow I love your photo cards. Such beautiful images that you manage to capture. Thank you for sharing snow!!! For those of us that hardly get rain, snow is like the 4 leaf clover. You hear about it and maybe once in a lifetime you may find it at your door. I love the stickers you sent me. What a sweet surprise! I will use them when I pass the smile that you sent me to another. Yes, there will be more exchanges from me in the future. I promise. This virus isn't getting me!!!
u/ninajyang Oh, Nina! You sent more gorgeous postcards and stickers!! These are so beautiful! I don't know how I'm going to part with these. I'm going to add them to my collection of hoarded cards. I love these botanical stickers!!! My garden is finally starting to come awake and the roses are about to start blooming. I wish I could figure out how to capture them like these stickers to share. I especially love Monstera leaves. I wear a necklace with a Monstera charm. I was hoping to be in the bay area right now. Some little virus changed all my travel plans for the year. We shall see when I can reschedule and maybe we can plan for a bay area meetup.
u/bananacreampiee and the so-cal meetup- Hey guys! I'm really sorry I missed all of you. It looked like so much fun. I'm really hoping that we can schedule another before the year is out. If life is back to normal by Halloween, I have a suggestion that I'll tell you about later. Thank you for sending me a postcard!!! u/ImOkReally u/Stockman1984 u/DrFroggie u/MeowPrincessSandwich u/drewadrawing
