This week I got some absolutely amazing mail from 4 amazing people! PHOTO HERE
- u/girlsonabench (x5) - what can I say?! This deserves its own post! Unfortunately I'm trying my best for u/stephkempf and their Instagram page to put them all together :P I loved reading about Cleveland. I have certainly heard the name before, but I could not tell you a single thing about it. I loved reading about its history, its unique quirks and local names. The postcards you send were beautiful in their own right and to get 4 of them with the most amazing descriptions truly blew my mind! And the stamp! It moved! The stamp moved! I'm sorry Missouri River, you may be pretty, but you fail as a stamp in comparison! Thank you for such an amazing package, and a great exchange! I hope that mine arrives soon, although I'm pretty sure that you won this exchange!
- u/mangomeliss - thank you for the great WW2 movie poster postcard! Life is treating me pretty well on this side of the planet. The days are getting nice and warm with the odd thunderstorm this past week which is always fun (when you are snug inside)! I have never actually read Anne Frank's diary, it has just been one of those that I would love to read one day but have never got around to it. Like so many other books I suppose! I would agree that history has a bit of a repetitive cycle, doesn't it? I love Band of Brothers! The first time I heard of it, was actually in relation to King Henry V and the battle of Agincourt which inspired the name. "We few, we band of brothers! For he who sheds his blood today with me shall be known as my brother!" Anyway, I now associate that series with good ol' Henry V! lol. Thanks for a great exchange!
- u/sf_postcards thank you so much for the scifi book cover postcard! Yes, I too have yet to read the man in the high castle book. I do like a few of Philip K. Dick's other works, which is why I'm keen to get my hands on the book one day. That said, my 'to-read shelf' is slowly turning into a 'to-read bookcase' I am so far behind! :( I did however recently watch the Amazon Prime TV show which was quite good. Science fiction is probably my favourite genre so I really loved this exchange! Thanks again!
- u/DrFroggie - thank you for the super-duper-but-still-quite-absurd batman comic book cover postcard! I concur, what IS a weapon-umbrella army? How does it work? Do they need pilots? Is it more of a stochastic attack like when the wind is too strong? I feel like I now need to find the actual comic.... :D Your underestimation of the required space for the stamp also made me smile. Thanks for a great exchange!
