Post Body

Hey everyone! I don't like to do requests too often but I feel unusually proud of my achievement.

In a couple weeks I am graduating from a top university in my country with an honours bachelor of arts degree with high distinction. (See tl;dr at the bottom if this is too long.)

I am almost 30 years old and for most of my life I never, ever imagined I could ever make it to university. I was a mediocore-at-best student, until high school, when it got even worse (due to mental health problems). By grade 12 I failed multiple classes, stopped attending school, and I essentially dropped out of two different high schools two years in a row. The third school I attended was extremely "forgiving" when it came to missed or late work (alternative school), and at age 20 I graduated high school with barely-passing grades. I was not proud of myself at all; if anything I was ashamed and embarrassed for graduating so late, especially knowing if I was in a mainstream high school I wouldn't have passed.

I ended up going to college (I think what you Americans call community college) for a two-year diploma program (which I hated, didn't do well either). I'll skip over the details but after 3 years of that program, I randomly found out I could transfer to university if I took more courses and maintained good grades. I worked my ass off in those college courses, and was able to transfer to university with a bunch of credits.

In university I somehow excelled, and so here I am now--graduating in a couple weeks with honours and high distinction. I was also accepted to do my master's degree in fall at the same university. Teenage me would have never believed it--the same would probably go for everyone who knew me.

I was hoping for some cards from my favourite reddit community congratulating me, if that's okay. PM me for my address (for those who have sent cards to me in the past--my address is the same). Also, if you send to me, include your address too if you'd like a card in response! :)

tl;dr Dropped out of high school a couple times before barely passing and getting my HS diploma at age 20. Now almost 30 and graduating from a top university with an honours B.A. with high distinction, and continuing on to my master's in fall. I love this community and was hoping for cards congratulating me?

EDIT: I just want to thank everyone here for their overwhelming kindness and support. <3
