As many of you saw from my Thank You posts yesterday, my good kitty Menzo had a recent trip to the vet. We got the news last night that he had cancer, and a lot of it. It seemed to have originated in his abdomen and then metastasized to his lungs. We think this happened over the course of just the last few months. There was nothing to be done, and he was miserable. :(

We put him to rest this afternoon, and it was bittersweet. He passed in my arms, snuggled in a blankie and purring. He was only 10 ½ years old. My husband and I are glad he is no longer suffering, but we already miss him terribly. He was my Best Good Baby Love, and the most wonderful kitty in all the land. There is going to be a very empty spot under the covers for a long time to come. :(

My request is two-fold. First, I would really appreciate any cards you could send my way, and stories of your pets. Whether they are still with us or not, I would love to read about them. Cat cards are a bonus of course. :) Second, I want you to give your pets a hug. No matter what kind of animal they are, give them a bit of a snuggle real quick. Maybe spoil them just a little bit with an extra treat or two. They make us so happy for so long, but it’s never long enough.

Thank you to those who sent me their well-wishes for him yesterday; it was very sweet. My husband and I were not expecting good news, but we were not expecting it to be cancer. My heart is broken, but I am glad that I have you all to help put it back together a little bit at a time. My address is the same - let me know if you need it.
