I really didn't want to reach out to you all during such a hard time, but then I realized...that's why we do what we do. To receive a card from a stranger who takes the time to send one, it's a magic and a love like no other.
I lost my mom mid January. I'm doing okay, had my final send off and good-bye yesterday, but it's hard not to think and dream of her all the time. She was 41.
Her name is Penny, she had a wacky sense of humor and was extremely selfless... Sadly life was being extra; she was schizophrenic and a drug addict (which is how she passed) but even though life was hard for her, she never failed to let me know how much she loves me. She ADORED me as her only daughter. I just wish I had been further ahead in life to take better care of her... She did not have many people in her circle at all... So I wanted to change that.
I don't mind if you'd like to write one for me, but I wanted to ask if anyone would like to write a card in honor of or to my Mom? I was going to put them all together in a bundle as a trophy to her. She always said my love was enough for her. I don't feel very enough right now though. But it would help to hear from other people who care.
Edit: I wanted to add this as a few of you had asked when offering. I can't believe all the beautiful responses and I can't wait to do an official Thank You post! We both love flowers, butterflies, blackberries, chicken nuggets and fries (she was childish and totally passed that on to me) it's because of her that I love arts and crafts and shopping at dollar stores and we both always used to go looking for stickers together for when we wrote each other letters. Just so you can know a little about me and her. :')
