I was in the office today & that means I had the opportunity to head to the post office to pick up mail (yes, I chose a post office near my office rather than my home for my PO box—the hours are more convenient for me 🤷). So, early-week thanks for cards are in order:

• /u/fancykiddens: Thank you for the pair of Sacramento cards! That's cool about the city having been raised in the 19th Century. I imagine if not for all the gold nearby, the state government would have happily remained in San Francisco!
• /u/jemst0ne: I didn't know what you meant previously when you said "stamp card"; now I do! Plus, two of the stamps you used were from pretty cool series: the 5¢ Overrun Countries & the 4¢ Champions of Liberty!
• /u/happyjoy23: I love to see a postcard rescued from Goodwill & put to its intended purpose! You need to head back to DC; I swear there's more than just the Holocaust Museum! (Your card also managed to miss the cancellation machine!)
• /u/melhen16: More pretty stamps; I'm bound to get a full set of 33¢ Legends of Baseball if we keep corresponding! Also, could you imagine USPS today issuing a stamp like this!? And I did know that about Aomori! (Your card got hit by the cancellation machine, but on the wrong side... 🤦 That left the pretty stamps pretty, though...)
• /u/laura_eva: Of course Georgia's state vegetable is the Vidalia onion... I imagine the state fruit is the peach, but fun fact: neighboring South Carolina actually grows more peaches than Georgia!
• /u/ridethatbridge: Ahh, yes, the Assateague ponies! I've been meaning to head out to the Eastern Shore at some point, but the way that'd be more convenient for me would take me across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge–Tunnel and that's going to be both cool & terrifying!
• /u/literallyinlimbo: Thank you for not one, but two red cars on your card! It's interesting that USPS included a Mercury in the Pony Car series & even more so that they apparently also included an AMC!? I may have to pick up a sheet of those to use now...
• /u/inconsolableonion: To be fair to your cat, you were 3 minutes late for breakfast; according to most contemporary readings of cat law, that's a summary offense punishable by up to death...You got off lucky! 😹 Thanks for the truly random card!
• /u/thecaledonianrose: I am resolutely a chef, which is good because I am absolutely unable to paint, draw, sculpt, or carve to save my life (a cruel curse in an otherwise artistically-gifted family...) My only saving grace in that regard is that I'm able to sing better than most, even if there I'm relegated to the supporting parts as a bass... 🤷
