Hi guys! This is my first request! 🫣

I would like to ask if there’s anyone up for sending a card where you write a bit of a love letter or note to my D&D character, Amari?

We’re now 10 sessions deep and our DM asked us for a secret about our characters that nobody knows yet, and mine was that Amari is carrying a stack of secret love letters on her person, and I know the PERFECT community to hopefully help me pull it together!

How you approach this is up to you! Classic words of heartache and affection? Or the opportunity for a bit of NSFW smuttiness would be welcome if you're so inclined? Same with anything on the spectrum of innocent, sensible or unhinged within the spirit of the request.

I think this might be a fun opportunity for anyone who is currently/previously/aspires to playing D&D to apply their character or an idea for a character, or just someone who likes a bit of creative writing.

How the card sent looks does NOT need to be cannon or theme appropriate, I’ll just be grateful for whatever you’d send! I’m more interested in what you write (or communicate in whatever language).

Cards would need to be addressed to me (the real person) of course.

Who is Amari?

She is a 20-something half-elf warlock criminal, currently level 5. She has dark mid-length tousled hair and dresses with some 2010’s emo vibes. She’s never far from her prized possessions; an aquamarine stone pendant and her trusty crowbar. She has always been very angsty, and terrifyingly intimidating when needed. But loves to love and break hearts, not that her current party has seen this side of her!

Although the love child of a baron, she was nonetheless raised in his household and her step-mother. Like with any good D&D character, she has a tragic backstory whereby her father’s land (Silver Peaks) was destroyed during the previous campaign and the family was left destitute. Father passed away and step-mother didn’t want to support her any more so was on the streets at about 15 years old. It was a challenge but ultimately she thrived in her independence, traveling around, meeting with all kinds of people/other beings (and making connections within the network of criminality of course).

She eventually tracked down her birth mother Janet (my character from the last campaign, a half-elf druid, liked fire) in Hollow Hills, who had since become the village drunk in the years after basically saving the world from inevitable doom. Janet accidentally burnt down the tavern (The Artichoke) which came with a large debt from some dangerous people and they were chasing both Janet and Amari for payment. In an act of desperation and vulnerability Amari made a pact with the devil Asmodeus; power, protection and paying off the debtor, but taking a risk on forming a contract with her patron.

Disillusioned with her mother, Amari set off back on the road alone to seek her fortune and collect enough gold to pay back Asmodeus (at least, that’s how she thinks she will settle her contract).

Which is where the current campaign begins! Amari was sailing over to Saltmarsh, a busy tropical port town with a reputation for trade and smuggling, when something mysterious happened that sank the boat and the newly formed party had to fight some stuff and now we’re connected by a weird dream in classic D&D fashion.

Where might we have met?

Anywhere! Amari has been nomadic for about 5-10 years, traveling around all over the world sampling whatever comes her way. Any race, any gender, any age (age appropriate as a minimum obviously), any background. Or maybe you met Amari as children in her rebellious years in the mansion or village, or at her posh boarding school? Recent letters would have likely reached her through the criminal networks or passed in person.
