Some fun facts about Christmas cards: “The Christmas card was first developed in December 1843 by Sir Henry Cole (the same year that the Christmas Carol was published by Charles Dickens). 1000 cards were originally printed and cost 1 shilling a piece (about a day’s wage). There was little reference to religion and no he first card included three groups of his family gathered around a Christmas table surrounded by scenes of charity on the sides to remind about poverty in the Christmas season.” - Bill Bryson, “The Secret History of Christmas”
I’m on the East Coast of the US, so it’s just about 20 minutes before the new year and wanted to send forth some last minute thank-you’s during 2023. Thank you to everyone, trading cards with you all was the highlight of my holiday season! https://imgur.com/gallery/5bbE6wb Wishing you all the best in 2024!
