I’ve been so blessed in my (relatively long) life to have friends from grade school, high school and college that are still close friends. One of my besties from grade school is just really going through it and will need a hip replacement early next year (although we’ve been on this earth over half a century, it’s still kinda young!). She’s had some other emotional drains recently and I think she’d love a card shower.

She LOVES animals-wanted to be a vet but went into another science field. But loves, loves, loves animals, in particular cats and dogs. She lives a very healthy lifestyle, but enjoys cooking and baking, so a recipe included would be fun for her. She loves to read, and loves a good (or a bad) joke! She also really appreciates those motivational sayings and quotes about transcending hardship. I don’t know if she has favorite colors, but she definitely loves flowers and gardening, so I think is open to any colors.

If you have time to drop her a holiday/Christmas/New Years card, or a regular greeting card or postcard, I’ll forward them all onto her. Just saying anything positive, funny, book recommendation during her recovery, or just a ‘you aren’t alone’ will make the world of difference for her.
