First off, my apologies for delaying this post for so long, I could have sworn I already posted it but it took a nice redditor receiving a card of mine and asking me if I got hers and realised I never did. :(
Since there are more than a few amazing cards and pieces of mail, I'll split this into two posts - this one for my birthday and the other for general RAoCs <3
u/Work_n_D~ Thank you so much for the lovely cat stickers, the quote and the book recommendation! I bought some more orchids so my balcony looks more like a tropical jungle now and the nursery threw a Monstera for free because it was a little hurt but it's doing majestically now!
u/jemstone I loved the splashes of blue in the card and also the beautiful stamps <3 it rained on my birthday and that's my favourite weather and blue my favourite colour so it was just perfect!
u/TyeDyeAmish we do birthday cakes too! This year I got a butterscotch cake - also don't hate me, but cakes taste so much better the next day, there's absolutely nothing better than leftover cake! I had a giant slice the next day reading a new book I got as a gift to myself!
u/tiredpantyhose thank you for the blue penguin and the card with the Dracaena trifasciata plants on the cover and the envelope too! It was so vibrant and green! I have a few of these beauties all over my apartment!
u/celpel I absolutely loved the purple bougainvilla and the digitalis cards and the colourful envelope and stickers! I've been looking for this colour of a bougainvilla for a while now but all I find are the reds/pinks, whites and yellows (still so beautiful nonetheless) it was so amazing to see it in your mail!
u/stephkempf thank you for the absolutely GORGEOUS card, the sailboats and the sunset with those vibrant but soft hues, frisson but because of happiness and saudade <3 I spent time at the local nursery and the bookstore and got soaked on my way home, so it was a lot of fun! I wish I had more days like those in a year where everything comes together like that
u/balosi thank you so much for the card with the gulls at the beach! They look like they are a group of mobsters plotting their next move haha! It brought such a lovely touch of the sea in my mail and I chuckled at all the jokes! Such a bright moment <3
u/BlacksmithEquivalent thank you for adding so much birthday fun to my card!! I didn't even know there was a US birthday stamp, and for adding stamps related to my country too! And the festive birthday washi! And the stickers! And the card! I know I love the rain but the tranquility of a warm, sunny, meadow with wildflowers blooming around you is so beautiful!
u/queerest_theorist thank you for the cute Llama card! It instantly reminded me of Tina from Napoleon Dynamite, (one of my favourite movies ever!) and the scene of him shovelling casserole over her fence and trying to get her to eat it, absolutely hilarious! I did party like Tina in a way haha
u/significant-sail-861 thank you for your lovely wishes and such kind words! I loved the AWA card that you sent! I love Wes Anderson movies (my favourite is Grand Budapest Hotel) and Asteroid City came just in time for my birthday! I'd love to visit some of these places from the cards someday, thank you for sending me whimsy in the mail <3
u/littlemermaidxx thank you for such a cute card with the embracing prairie dogs and the stickers and wishes! I sent a picture of the card to my mom with just "U" as the caption and we ended up having such a delightful conversation, and I have a lovely memory now thanks to your card <3
u/sayhellotomyafro I hope that you enjoyed your trip to Berlin and got to see loads of art and sample amazing food! Thank you so much for your wishes and for taking the time out of your trip to send me a card and adding the lovely sailing ship stamp, and letting me experience your time in Berlin vicariously through your card, I appreciate it so much!
u/lacuntessa thank you so much for the beautiful card with the ships and the bay, it's such a lovely scene and makes me want to visit the US Virgin Isles someday! Also I love all the stickers! The frog in the top hat is an absolute winner!
u/hexagonalrainbow Thank you so much for the postcard of the sea and the film tones! Would you believe I didn't watch either Oppenheimer or Barbie? My friends did both back to back but I couldn't make it, and then I just never got around to going for either of them, I'm probably one of the few people who've seen neither :P
u/35days I love your card so much - the incredible soft sunset over the farm, it made me yearn for a time and place I didn't know about, such sweet melancholy (and I mean that in the absolute best way, I love that feeling) and also the beautiful poem about the rain, often it makes me feel the same way! It rained on my birthday and there is a sense of enthrallment that comes with it that's difficult to describe, the Monsoon is my favourite season..I saved the poem in my journal <3
To everyone who sent me your wishes, your words, your art, your time, THANK YOU, it helped bring so many bright sparks to my days and I appreciate each and every one of you for taking the time to send me your love.
