  • u/AppleCritter723 x2: Thank you for your two LOTR cards - those are cool! As you know I'm overdue to write back to you and I already have things in my mind that I want to tell you about - hopefully I'll get up and do it soon (sorry about all the silence!). Sorry to hear that you've also been dealing with heat waves - the ones over here over the last several weeks were pretty uncomfortable; we bought three fans! (one for each room). I've never heard of tornadoes around here - I don't know what geophysical circumstances are required for them to form but I guess those are not present here - thankfully! I hope that you and your loved ones are well. Thanks again for thinking of me! 💌
  • u/jaimekj: Your card reached me after just nine days of travel. Thank you so much! My very brief visit to your country was great! I was hoping to come back for work later this year but sadly it doesn't look like it'll work out. I had no idea that the Mona Lisa was ever stolen! I've seen the original in the Louvre and TBH didn't really get what the fuss is about - the painting is tiny and constantly surrounded by a horde of tourists; it'd be impossible to steal it today!
  • u/Intrepid-Researcher x3: Thank you for your three card plus tea for my gf plus restocking my sticker supply :D You also picked a very pretty envelope with cute tea pots, cherry-themed decoration, more stickers and washi, and of course the usual pretty stamps.
    • Thanks for the card with the 1872 painting, 'A Road in Loveciennes'! You put washi tape on the back and wrote in green and red ink, neat! Haha I'm a night owl so I'm commonly awake at 4am even when I'm not catching any public transport. I hope you had a great time at the cabin, sounds like a large part of your extended family came this time! What did you think of the Barbie movie? I didn't picture you as a Barbie fan haha. I don't go to movie theatres any more but when they come out digitally, I'm definitely watching Oppenheimer and maybe also Barbie. Good job on climbing that tree! One of the joys of being an adult. As a kid I always climbed trees and my mum would freak out.
    • Thanks for the illustrated card of a dog (cat?) painting a seaside village scene! You put 'my neighbor Totor' washi and a sticker on the back and again wrote in red and green ink, but this time starting with red, then green, then a bit of red again! I don't think I've read "The Catcher in the Rye" - it's the kind of book that in Germany people only ever read in high school, and my class didn't read it.
    • Thanks for the illustrated fox card, the tea and all the stickers! I agree that the tea smells very fall-ish! And the stickers were awesome, I particularly liked the ones of the cat cooking, eating watermelon, and sitting at a desk. At a previous flat there was a garden which was commonly visited by a fox, but then one day the fox was clearly hurt (perhaps hit by a car). We put out water and food but I'm not sure that the fox touched it, and then afterwards it didn't come back so I think it might have died :'-(
