How gorgeous this is doesn’t make it seem like it’s your first time using acrylic paint - I’m so impressed that the paint didn’t warp the card! I could stare at your beautiful work all day long. I’m not versed in art to talk about your skills formally but I’ll try my best to describe what really catches my eye. I feel as if there’s infinity behind what I see. The way in which you created your foundational layers gives me a sense that your work lives beyond what is exposed to me. That shows me how truly talented you are with all of your art endeavors! I love how you incorporated so many different elements & textures into the piece - from the sequins to the lace paper to the vintage ephemera & the book-ish girl sticker! It all comes together so harmoniously! I feel so grateful that you thought of me - thank you so much for the beautiful gift! I was so happy you sent it “3 months late” because it makes me feel better about my own issues with procrastination ;) Loved hearing about the random online prompt to engage the senses. So powerful. The noise from your fridge makes me think of my fave prank phone call bit that I used in the dorms: “Is your refrigerator running?” Innocent reply: “Yes.” Me: “Maybe you should go catch it.” Jerk response: to sigh loudly and slam the phone in my face. I’ll never forget the best reply I ever got, a girl who just laughed so much & then thanked me for brightening her day. =) And thank YOU, friend, for brightening my day with your happy vibes!!!

This is now one of my fave postcards, ever! I can see why she’s one of your faves - I appreciated you writing out so much about her to inspire me to do my own research! You wrote: “In 1787, she caused a minor public scandal when her self-portrait with her daughter showed her smiling & open-mouthed, showing her teeth.” That is such a neat tidbit & insanely inspiring (yes, so this) that smiling could prove scandalous, haha! Unless you received a card from me, I’m pretty sure you’re on my list of friends whom I’ve mailed but the card was returned to me. I don’t have that stack of returned mail with me but will check & get back to mailing super soon after my late thank-yous are posted. I appreciate your constant kindness so much, friend!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the awesome secrets you shared with me but will refrain from disclosing them here lol. I totally understand why you would return you know where - so jealous. ;) I will comment that I had never tried a Nespresso machine until I was at a hotel last year for my cousin’s wedding and there was one in my room. Okay, prior to using those pods, I guess I had only been drinking dirt. NEVER BEFORE & not since have I had a more delectable cup of coffee, WOW. The butterfly & floral washi tape you used is so fun & makes me dream of cooler weather in a more scenic state (pretty much anywhere but the hell where I reside haha, it’s 104 degrees today!) Thank you so much for the gorgeous pastel 3D clouds & sun/moon card sent while you were practicing your cursive handwriting on Pi Day! Your cursive is so cuuute n’ curvy! And that pastel-colored ink is so dreamy! How adorable is this “I Whaley Like You” whale card?!?! Thank you! You got even cuter when I read that you were ticked off about the color of the ink, you amazing soul!!! I’m smiling so much at your adorable “temper” (I’m grinning here thinking about what would make you seriously angry hahaha)!!! Of course I also love the stickers so cute they could only originate from the Queen of Cute!!!! BTW this handmade upcycled envelope is super snazzy, yesssss! I have a stack of discounted calendars I bought from Sam’s when their calendars were on clearance so I’m looking forward to using them for RAoC envelopes.
