[Thank You] The Cards of March
Author Summary
nyancatNOVA is in Thank You
Post Body

I've been busy being hurt and sad this month. In my February post I said that I had hoped to do an early March exchange. Well..... the timeline:

  • Monday, 27 February: cortisone injections in spine
  • Tuesday, 28 February: fell in the garden. Fractured my knee.
  • Thursday, 2 March: saw doctor. Got leg brace.
  • Wednesday, 15 March: got MRI of shoulder. Small fracture and tendon fraying.
  • Friday, 31 March: will begin PT for knee, since my leg will be in the brace for a while yet and we don't want to COMPLETELY wreck my quad muscles...

Yeah, I'm a mess. Thing is, I'm going to have my right knee (the fractured one) replaced in June, because my arthritis has degenerated to the point where quality of life is sorta .... meh. I arrived at the realization that I won't be doing much gardening this year, so I'm sad about that, too.

WHAT the hell is in retrograde?

Anyway, thank you to these card-peeps for giving me smiles this month. I really appreciate it! Photos are in this Instagram post.

(The photo with the cute llama clips are from a RL friend, and the photo with the washi tape cards are from RAoHM, so those are not included below.)

u/SaintMeris - thank you for the pretty card and stickers! I am writing back to you, and I understand your journey of healing. <3

u/herp_derpprincess - thank you for the cards and stickers! I use Tombow pens, too, and they are delicate! I hope you have found new ones. :) I will not be able to plant much this year in my garden, because of my knee surgeries. Winter was very mild here, so we already have lots of flowers! :)

u/TigerLady13 x 3 - thank you for the postcards! The passport arrived, and I'm so glad that's done! We'll be visiting England in May; I want to see family in East Anglia (where I'm from - Norwich, specifically), and friends in Twickenham and Isle of Wight. :) And I LOVE Hawaii!

u/maiiiu - thank you for the postcard! Cute kitty illustration, and now you have my username. I'm usually very good about putting my username on my cards, so sorry about that! Your little emoji drawings are adorable. :)

u/welshfancy - thank you for the card and update. You have been through a LOT it seems. I'm very lucky to have a job where I can work remotely, and my hours are flexible; I have arrived at the realization that I have (mild) agoraphobia, so not having to commute is a huge relief. Finding a job that matches us is such a difficult thing to achieve, and I truly wish it for you. <3

u/lonelytwatwaffle - thank you for the St. Patrick's Day card! Well, you just came in like a wrecking ball. DAMN, woman. Thank you for the absolute UNIT of stickers in the overstuffed envelope, and holy shit I was not prepared for that letter. Relatable doesn't even begin to describe it. I'll get off my ass and write you some ridiculous letters back soon. <3
