I joined Postcrossing and RAoC a few months into the pandemic myself and it's helped my happiness and mental health so much! I have already planned / booked a big vacation this summer (my first overseas trip since before the pandemic!), I hope that you'll get a nice vacation, too!

Obviously based on our previous conversations you know what connection I have to this, I really appreciate that you picked such a meaningful to me motive! The MSSS in the image credit that you quoted, by the way, is Malin Space Science Systems, to whose open source image processing software I once submitted a very tiny bugfix (it's seriously tiny, but I'm still a little proud). Regarding spring - it has just started to feel like spring here a day or two ago, I'm very happy that winter is ending and am already planning a small spring roadtrip around Easter (in a month)

It looks like you still live a couple of hours one-way from the closest point me and my friends will be on my trip so we probably won't meet, but I do appreciate your recommendations for the gardens and the breakfast place - we're definitely checking those out! I loooove Hawaii and hope that you will enjoy your trip. On Big Island I loved a guided tour up close to lava on Big Island, and driving partway up Mauna Kea (they don't let you drive all the way up). Generally my favourite island is Kauai - I loved a catamaran tour around part of the island.
