The final card arrived yesterday, and on the first day of spring, we all opened the pile of love you sent us! The first time we exchanged postcards, there was a lot of excitement, but it was incomparable to what happened today. "LETTERS," they shrieked and begged me to begin the class 15 min. earlier (I was mean, and they had to wait 🤭), and once the class began! Oh! The HORRORS! They had to pose with their correspondence for a picture for the school's page. You could see them agitated and ready to tear into their mail. I think that the first time they got mail, they did not believe it wasn't me writing to them because, why would strangers from all over the world be this kind?

Today filled me with so much happiness. Kids getting a tint of rose on their cheeks as I call their name with an envelope in hand. Reading each line you guys wrote with care, checking with me if they fully understood, and then sharing their messages around with others (The "Roses are red // Violets are blue [...]" poems were a great hit and I was told that we must try writing it!), and exchanging/giving/receiving the goodies that were added along the cards. We also had a bit of a geography lesson, looking up your cities/states. It was an awesome day for all of us! I couldn't be more thankful to all of you!

With no instructions from me, they began discussing what they are going to write next, and what they might add to their postcards ("Can we send cakes?" one asked me, giving me nightmarish flashbacks of customs regulations). It warms my heart to see them open up like this to the prospect of using the language they've been feeling unsure about using just a couple of months ago!

A funny thing. My practical training at that school ended back in December, but the kids won't let me go: I end up teaching a class there and a class here, and since they are enjoying this postcard exchange so much, they told me that I won't be able to rest until they graduate 😨.

THANK YOU!!! LOTS AND LOTS OF LOVE FROM ALL OF US!!! 💛💛💛💛
