I explained I'm new to Reddit & don't understand downvoting myself but have noticed that every single one of my comments in this sub is consistently downvoted, usually to zero (even the sparsest comments) while no other comments in the same thread will be downvoted. I know "it's just the internet & who cares about likes", but I feel that dislikes/downvotes for no reason at all inject a crazy negative energy into what is the most positive space/sub on the planet. Not even thinking about me (because maybe a newbie's genuine excitement at the power of this sub to make you wanna get up in the morning when nothing else did before could be considered annoying to some) but I can't even begin to imagine how much downvoting can impact a person's mental health, whether their mental health is fragile or fine. To put it simply - it can hurt a person's feelings. I have a little niece & my heart is constantly shredded when I read reports like these, about how social media/pressure of likes, etc. can trigger suicide:

The message y’all lovingly wrote inside my Beloved: “Ok, so normally I start off by sending people more normal cards, & I only send the weird stuff from my terrifying large stash once I get to know them a bit more. But we already get along so well - & you have figured out that I’m freaking weird - so I’m diving right in.
