[Thank You] What do you call a dictionary on drugs? Addictionary. Once I swallowed a dictionary. It gave me thesaurus throat I ever had.

u/peonynote OH HOW I LOVE THIS GORGEOUS Alice in Wonderland postcard featuring Alice in a whirlwind of playing cards! I’ve been staring at it all morning! The art work is just so full of life & movement. Love the colors. :) Thank you also for your super warm welcome to RAoC. Isn’t that Life is But a Dream poem so beautiful? How neat that you visited Christ Church @ Oxford where Lewis Carroll studied - wow, it’s awesome to meet a true fan! I hope I can go there too someday. Wishing you lots of beauty & joy this year! :)

u/robusto_esplendido x 2 Thank you for the Epcot postcard with the funny fictitious comments from 1982 including you lamenting that you forgot “my Fleetwood Mac tape at home” hahaha! I’m so glad you found RAoC homes for the postcards someone forgot to send a few decades ago! :) Thanks also for the cool retro postcard featuring a recipe & the cast of The Andy Griffith Show. I laughed at your honest reflection of the show, which I totally share: “I never really liked it much, sometimes it was just the least awful option on local TV channels!” TRUTH hahaha!

u/photographyislove Thank you for the hilarious naughty bird postcard: “Can today’s bullsh#t at least be different from yesterday’s bullsh#t?” with the fun fact - “The narked gull’s life would be considerably easier if it took advantage of the fact that it can fly away whenever it likes.” 🙂

u/melhen16 Thank you for this captivating “Walk with Me in Moonlight” postcard with the elegant bunny playing the violin while sitting on the moon! So much to think about here. I also love your words: “When it rains, look for rainbows. When it’s dark, look for stars.” Your wisdom is timeless & I love your optimism! Wishing you lots of rainbows & stars. :) Here is a quote along the same spirit for you: “A cloudless plain blue sky is like a flowerless garden.” -Terri Guillemets

u/IridiumViper Thank you for this ooooh-lala vintage print circus postcard of Nouveau Cirque! Anything written in French is so automatically elegant to me! :) As if the pretty card weren’t enough, I was blown away by you teaching me a brand new “random word’, which will now FOREVER be on my list of favorite words!!!! You wrote: “APRICATE: 1) (intransitive) to sunbathe or bask in the sun 2) (transitive) to expose to sunlight”*

*Beautiful* word! I’m especially fascinated by words relating to light. As a word nerd, I’m in word nerd heaven! :) Thank you for the awesome new vocab! You offered a great prompt. I’m so curious how you chose this “random” word. Because your word is so cool & unique yet when I picked up a dictionary just now to find a random word for you (eyes closed, flipped pages, pointed to random words), I kept picking the lamest words including “encyclopedia”, “fatness”, “mansize”, & appropriately for my process - “inept”!!! Please share your secret with me! ;)

u/MrsQuasi Thank you for the lovely vintage botanical postcard with the fun stickers & sweet warm welcome to the forum! With your permission, I share the entirety of your thought-provoking message so that hopefully others may be as *moved* as I am. You wrote:

“BEHOLD: to see or observe a remarkable or impressive thing & be moved by it. For 2023, I hope you will think of this word & allow yourself to be moved by what you see! In a world of so much chaos, sometimes the little things are the big things!” Thank you so much for the incredible depth you’ve gifted me. RAoC - the big thing I behold in a world of chaos. I never before looked at the word “behold” in a mystical manner but I always will, now. Thank you! :)

u/rennbrig Thank you for the soothing pink & rose gold floral card with your lovely observation that “the sweetest thing in life is human connection.” I’m really feeling the wisdom of your words with my life-altering experience with RAoC in just a few short weeks! I honestly didn’t know what I was missing before. I appreciate you being one of so many kind souls helping me rediscover the beauty of connection. 🙂

u/welshfancy How befitting it is to receive this flippin’ fancy Erte card from a fancy lady! I suddenly feel so underdressed! ;) I, too, am obsessed with the color pink even though I couldn’t stand it as a little kid! Ever heard of one of my favorite books The Pink Book: An Illustrated Celebration of the Color, from Bubblegum to Battleships ? Just axed the link because my card pics aren't showing up.

Thank you for sharing this amazing Paul Gaugin quote: “Color! What a deep and mysterious language, the language of dreams.”

u/Starboard44 x 2 Thank you for the lovely Oscar Wilde postcard featuring the cover of The Importance of Being Earnest & Other Plays which so appeals to the book nerd I am! Thank you also for the funny cartoon postcard from my favorite magazine, The New Yorker featuring the father telling his son at the playground: “Son, if you can’t say something nice, say something clever but devastating.”

u/sable__Thank you for the postcard depicting art from The Adventures of Andre & Wally decorated with the cute stickers. The sleepy guy on the front made me think of how I was before RAoC - pretty much asleep in life ;) I love how this forum woke me up!

u/jubilanthello Thank you for the bicycle postcard with the great film recs! I happened to see Manchester by the Sea just a few months ago after studying that riveting scene where the exes meet on the street and have the heartbreaking convo for a class. Just had to watch it after bawling my eyes out! That’s an intense film! I watched an interview afterward with the director & was so surprised at his comments that he deliberately injected humor into the film. I was like WHAT HUMOR?!!? I missed the humor! Haunting, haunting film. No spoilers but those scenes with the kids talking...I was speechless. I saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ages ago but have been wanting to watch it again and read the screenplay. You’ve got great taste in films! :) Have you seen Stranger Than Fiction? I highly recommend it!

u/sunflowr_prnce Thank you for the adorable little “Bunches of Flowers” acrylic painting card from your library & the too-cool n’ cute-to-actually-use bunny-shaped paperclip!! Like you, I’m a fan of flowers & colors too! Love the mango juice sticker too. :)

u/Corpseylady Thank you for the pretty flower postcard featuring Eric Carle’s artwork! I’m also grateful for the mesmerizing reading you offered & will DM you later with hopeful questions for clarification if you don’t mind! :) Suddenly the future looks so bright because of you! Thank you :)
