About 80% of adults have some form of the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) (yes, 'cold sores' and 'fever blisters' are herpes)
~20-25% of adults have Genital HSV, but ~90% aren't aware. Why? Because standard STI screenings DO NOT include an HSV test. "The stigma is so much worse than the disease that the CDC actually recommends against testing for HSV in the absence of obvious symptoms."
When I disclose my HSV status, the normal response is "All my STI screenings came back clean, so I don't have herpes." They don't believe when I tell them that standard screenings don't include HSV, unless you specifically request it (or you have visible blisters).
So, before you reject, or comment negatively, about someone's HSV status, be aware that you're probably included in the 80% of adults with some form of HSV.
That said, I want GHSV women out there to know they are still desirable. Personally, since my diagnosis, I've actively sought out HSV women. Keep your head up!
If you're interested in connecting, send me a PM. I'm tall, black, very fit, and attractive. I live in Manhattan.
