What kind of sad sack sits home alone on a Friday night, contemplating the flaming wreckage of his life?

Not me! At least, hopefully not for long! I want to be a happy sack!

[EDIT: "Happy" sack, not "hacky" sack, to be clear. Hacky sacks get kicked around, and I would like to avoid that, no shade if that's your fetish. ✌️]

Astute readers may wonder why I am posting this in RAOMD. Good question! Cue up the flaming wreckage of my life: I am separated and not single, though, God willing, I will be soon. I do not have my shit together at the moment, unless you count what's left splattered on the fan. I'm not quite ready for a serious relationship, and I've had one "success story" from this sub, though I didn't post it, because I'm old fashioned about trying to be "gentlemanly."

If, dear reader, I have not frightened you, let's get to the fun stuff!

I'm 49, 5'10", thin, salt and pepper hair.

I want a girlfriend who can help me remember that life should be fun! I want to explore and have adventures with a sweet, fun girl, both in and out of bed. Stuff I'm into that I hope we could do together:

TRAVEL: Ok, I haven't really gone anywhere since Covid, but in prehistoric times, I've been to North Korea. I did a road trip in the Middle East. I've lived, briefly, in Europe. I won the lottery for Mt Whitney and Half Dome this year, and I need to do training hikes!

FOOD: I love food, and I love trying new things. Did you know there's a Uighur restaurant in Alhambra? Wanna try it! Compare and contrast Bacetti and Mother Wolf? Would love to!

MUSIC: These days I'm into "alt country" and "indie pop," if you have to label things. Shows I wanted to see, if I'd had a date: Wet Leg at the Fonda. Wanda Jackson at the Observatory. Anybody halfway talented at Zebulon.

TRIPPING: We match if you like Atlas Obscura and exploring offbeat places. Kayaking to a bar in Long Beach? Checking out the Marionette Theater? Tournament of Nerds at Dynasty Typewriter?

MUFF DIVING: That's why we're here, right? 😉

Ok, enough about me. Now, about you:

1. Must love dogs.
2. Must be liberal/left leaning.
3. Can chat and be couple-y.
4. Would like/is able to do at least some of these date ideas, or something similar.
5. Wants/needs affection, particulary being eaten out. It's ok if you're not experienced, as long as you're not shy or squeamish about it. I presume you want this, too, since you're here, but I try not to be pushy or creepy. 🙂

Those are the dealbreakers. Everything else is negotiable, and part of the fun of meeting people!
