Hello everyone!

We are always behind the scenes constantly discussing the state of the sub. Due to recent events, we have decided to bring up the topic of the COVID-19 pandemic in regards to this sub. We thought it would be a good idea to ask our users for input on what we consider to be a very important decision for many.

So what are our options?

  1. Continue as normal. Coronavirus is way out of control in the USA and us closing won't make a difference until the US government makes moves to take control of the virus. In January, we will reevaluate if nationwide quarantine mandates come into play (because let's be honest, 70% of our users are American).
  2. Shut down just for USA. This is the country where most of our users are from and would be applicable to the entire country. It also begs the question of when to reopen? Months from now? When will be safe? Additionally, they’ll just find alternate venues and methods to use.
  3. Shut down entirely. This would be the simplest in terms of execution, but punishes the 30% of our users who are living in countries without lockdowns. Many users are currently free to walk down the street with no issues as their country has mostly beaten the virus. Should we punish everyone just because Americans can't get their country under control?

Ground Rules for Commenting: * You must include your location in your comment (put it in the beginning so that it is easily visible for us Mods). This pandemic is affecting different parts of the world differently and we want to use this info to help gauge opinions. * Please put some thought into your comment. We are using these as a way to gauge feelings about this sub in regards to COVID along with any ideas/opinions on what we as Mods should do as our next step. * Please be polite and respectful to one another. Let me say it again. Please don’t be a dickhead. COVID can bring up alot of various opinions, beliefs, and emotions. We welcome these various perspectives, but y’all will be nice about it. No attacking one another, no attacking the mods, or any political nonsense. We are all trying our best here. After all, being kind and respectful is one of our sub rules so don’t go breaking it.

We are genuinely open to hearing what you all have to say. We lead this sub, but you all are the ones who make it what it is. Let’s do this together so we can get through this together.
