Religion is just such a taboo to the point it feels like it doesn’t exist. So it’s really nice see a show tackle how someone can be religious in this current social climate while also exploring the family’s culture. I still live with my parents, but even if I were to move out, I honestly can’t see a world where I can be close to my family AND enjoy life at the same time.
We’re Christian and Asian. And I sometimes wish I had allies who understand the lukewarm zone I’m in (I know, gross, I hate it too, that’s why I struggle). Usually people are super into their faith or completely opposed to it. No middle ground. So it‘s nice to see Ramy thread that very thin line. And I want to see more about his perspective on it.
That being said, I hope they don’t continue that cousin shit. Like really bro? You wrote this?
