Hey Reddit community, I just wanted to share my experience with converting the air suspension on my 2017 Ram 1500 to a traditional spring and shock setup.
It all started when I was towing a boat in Utah during below freezing temperatures. For the first time ever, my truck's air suspension started sagging, causing the ride to be extremely bumpy and unstable. I thought it was just a fluke, but it happened again when I was driving in California during normal temperatures. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make it back to Florida without any issues, but thankfully, the suspension held up during the trip back.
After doing some research, I decided to convert the air suspension to a traditional spring and shock setup using the Monroe conversion kit. I was skeptical at first, but the kit restored the factory ride height and delivered a smooth and comfortable ride. Not to mention, it was significantly cheaper than replacing the air suspension system.
Overall, I'm glad I made the decision to convert to a traditional suspension setup. It's been reliable and hassle-free since the installation, and I no longer have to worry about the air suspension sagging or failing during my travels. If anyone else is experiencing similar issues, I highly recommend looking into the Monroe conversion kit as a cost-effective solution.
