why does it take so long to rank up?

I started playing rainbow six again recently and I just started playing ranked again this season, why is it taking so long to rank up?
My KD is 1.6 and my W/L is 1.2
I've been in copper 5 since the beginning of this season and I've played at least 30 games but I'm still in copper? It's not even fun playing the game anymore because I get kills so easily in my rank, but for some reason I can't leave it. Is this normal?
