Can anyone understand ranked points to me? Why do I earn so few?

I looked up some old questions on this but I still don't understand. I queue solo all the time. I usually do pretty dang well. My KD is around 1.1 to 1.2 I only seem to hover between silver 1 and gold 4 though. no matter how much I play and do well and win, its like I have to play so many damn matches to get out of gold 4 because I only earn like 25 points or less per match for winning. When I lose I lose like 30 points.

Why is the ranking system so against you in this, especially for Solo queue. Is their any way to reset this?
