All these betas yet I can't find a game with a few friends?

I really want to like this game and honestly the gameplay is pretty solid. But for a multiplayer-only game this has been a huge let down considering the state of matchmaking and the party system. Is it their servers? Uplay? I have a great connection and have no issues with any other game. I can't recommend this game for a full price retail game.
