How to get into better standard lobbies?

Returning player, took a long break and getting back into the game and WOW matchmaking is interesting.

This isn’t “muh teammates are trash” this is holy shit this whole lobby is brand new to the game while I have a couple thousand hours kinda scenario. Not to be stroking myself off but I dominate each and every match and it’s not even that I’m just that good, it’s just the fact these guys are brand new to this game and some seem to be new to shooters in general.

I don’t really want to hop back into ranked yet but my god, how does the matchmaking for standard work?
