[SPOILER WARNING] So I just finished the game, and...

[SPOILER WARNING AGAIN. I'M DISCUSSING THE ENDING HERE.]

I liked it. As a big Danganronpa fan it definitely satisfied my itch for another mystery adventure type game. But I don't know... For some reason I feel kinda empty now that it's finished? The ending felt sort of rushed compared to the rest of the game.

It seems like there are still so many loose ends to be solved. Like the abandoned homunculi from the restricted area. Did they ever say anything about what happened to them? What about the existence of the book of death, Shinigami, and the Mystery Labyrinth in general? I really thought they were gonna touch on that at some point. I also wanted some lore on Yuma's (a.k.a Number One's) backstory before he lost his memories. We don't know anything about him really.

I also find it strange that they didn't show Makoto at all during the Epilogue. Apparently he just announced that everyone in Kanai Ward is homonculi and everyone is just... Okay with it? I dunno, I feel like there should have been a bigger deal made out of that. A city with a bunch of immortal zombie people and the rest of the world is just... ALRIGHT with that?

In general the pacing of the final chapter felt kinda fast compared to the earlier parts of the game. Like that first case with Zilch on the train murdering all the Master Detectives was absolute insanity, it really made me look forward to the rest of the game.

But at the end it kinda felt like the devs were sick of writing the plot and wanted to wrap everything up asap. Especially with how hastily everything was explained in the Epilogue. Like how Makoto apparently just found bones to match the Master Detectives bodies to make it seem like they were dead, and the bombing on the WDO being a sham.

Overall I still enjoyed my time with the game, the cases were very creative and well thought out. And there were plenty of great character moments as well. I'm just left feeling like there should have been more details at the end. Maybe even another Chapter to properly wrap things up.

Am I alone on this? Or am I being too nitpicky?
