Auto steal rogue, worth it?

I'm working on leveling my gank rogue and so far I'm not sure if it's worth it. I have an agi knight that's 20ish levels higher than it that is just starting to take off. With no aoe and generally slow kill speed, is gank worth it? Does it farm better over a knight that can kill quicker?
I want to love rogue, I'm just trying to see where it fits in.
