LPT: You can skip the first 10 levels on a new character by heading straight to Prontera

Head towards the church and you will get the quest to fight the Smokie disguised as Baphomet in the graveyard right away. Completing this quest will send you straight to level 10.
I discovered this by accident, and two of my guild members confirmed that it works.
Edit: Note, you still need to do the first story quest before you unlock the job change quest. Talk to the girl right outside the gate.
