Bitsquare's funding round using Lighthouse
There are many centralized bitcoin exchanges to choose from. All have different advantages and disadvantages so you can chose which one fits your needs best. Why would we need another one? The answer is quite simple: One thing they all share is a single point of failure (spf). This results in exploitation as seen in the MtGox-drama, the Bitstamp heist or the exploitation of coin tracing. There's one thing you can count on: It will happen again!
If you're the kind of person, that likes to have total control over your money (which you should be when you're dealing with bitcoin), you must be longing for Bitsquare's decentralized fiat<->bitcoin exchange.
Manfred wrecked his brain to find a solution to the spf problem. Again, the answer is simple and you can find it in Bitcoin: Decentralize all the things!
The implementation is difficult, though. After one year of brainwrecking and development, after the accomplishment of v0.1, after publishing working open source software for everyone to try, Bitsquare can't bear the financial burden of self-funding further software development alone. Our personal funds are used-up.
