Why did raccoons poop in my planter?

So, I have an above ground pool with an elevated deck, and an umbrella stand/planter thingy that has aloe in it and doesn't need much tending. So, haven't been in there in a few months. I do feed the coons to keep them and my cat copacetic, and its worked for years.

So, this planter looks like a litter box, y'all! I mean full of many different poops, and spilling onto the deck.

I'm not gonna touch it. I'll spray the stuff off my deck and bleach it. Gonna put a bag of big rocks over the poop, and then sprinkle with habanero powder. This got them to stop digging in the flower beds near their food. I'm NOT gonna scoop it or anything like that. Just entomb it.

But, but BUT: WHY, WHY, WHY???!!! WTF?

I had raccoons coming up to my 2nd story deck to shit at the top of the stairs for like a week. It was the weirdest, funniest, most annoying thing those little trash heaps have done around here. Now they’re out there screaming, fighting and doing the dirty for the last couple weeks. Dead quiet at night until you hear them screaming and jumping in and out of the nearby creek. Wild little things lol
