So our neutered male Creme has started an odd behavior. We feed him and his bunfriend in the same large litter box (it's actually a repurposed guinea pig cage) by spreading hay on top of his bedding. This was fine before, but now he's decided he doesn't like that and instead kicks the hay out of the box, spreading it out as far as possible into the bathroom/adjacent bedroom before even considering eating it. And it's just the hay. Does anyone have any idea why he's doing this? And maybe a way to combat it? Steam cleaning carpets is expensive.
