Daughters and Ryan Ryback, Three Sails and Ramback, Powermatic III tips
Post Body

Quick disclaimer that my sense of smell and taste aren't what they used to be after covid.

Ryback has a very high nicotine content while having a strong bold flavor. It's a moderately sized shag cut. Definitely needs a good drying before rolling. Bag note is beef jerky from the fire cured tobacco and it comes across a bit in the flavor. I can't smoke it by itself mostly because of the nicotine high. It's the only one that will give me a high in the middle of the day and it's to the point of making me nauseous. Mix it 50% with Three Sails and it's a great smoke.

Three sails is a fine long shag cut that is very moist out of the bag. Bag notes are sweet raisin. The smoke is very smooth with a light natural sweetness and a moderate amount of nicotine. A good every day smoke.

Ramback is camel on steroids. It's 100% Turkish tobacco, which camels use enough to add a bit of flavor. It is a short ribbon cut that comes very dry and ready to roll. I put a boveda pack in the bag because it will quickly go too dry. I'd think it was old or a mistake, but it just came back in stock and other reviews have mentioned it, so it seems intentional. The bag note is slightly spicy dried fruit and the smoke is moderate and the Turkish tobacco flavor is hard to describe, but it's that. Nicotine seems about average for a red tobacco. If you mixed it with three sails, I think you'd end up with a Camel clone with extra flavor. I think I'll have to try that soon.

Recently picked up a powermatic III and it's pretty picky about how it likes the tobacco to be. It works best on a short ribbon cut that are fairly dry. Ramback was perfectly suited for it out of the bag. For shag cuts to not jam the hopper, I have to dry it like normal for about 15 minutes and give it a light shredding by hand to shorten the strands. Just grab handfuls and start ripping it until it doesn't clump and tangle together like it is straight out of the bag.

The Powermatic III is definitely handy since I'm bad at getting a consistent pack with manually packed machines.
