Wealp, here's my attempt at an OC. It was primarily just a way for me to exercise my writing skills and creativity. Feedback's appreciated.
Name: Aeion Glacé (Where the last name is both a play on Glass and Ice in french.)
Inspiration: Atheon (Vault of Glass), Robin Hood, Neith, Aeon... basically anything to do with archery and time.
Race: Human
Age: 17. Born on the 27th day, 10th month.
Occupation: Ex-Secretary & Hired Gun, Thief, student in Beacon.
History: Aieon Glacé was born in the city of Alder, located in the northern region of Atlas. Said city was a technological marvel, pushing boundaries beyond what Remnant could fathom, specifically for those who could afford it. Aeion was not one of those people. Orphaned at a young age, he barely managed to scrape by in this supposed shining city; until he turned to thieving. He learnt fast, and in a matter of years the orphan went from pickpocketing to becoming one of Alder's most notorious thieves, easily breaking into the most state of the art businesses in a matter of minutes. He also grew versed in all forms of technology during his escapades, able to discern the most complex of machineries. His hot streak of evasion came to a halt when Phire Soleil, CEO of Penumbra Technologies, the leading company in Atlesian technological advancements, caught him halfway through opening the safe door. Impressed by his handiwork, Phire took the boy in as her personal secretary. Aeion soon realized that it took more than a charming, suave businesswoman and copious amounts of money to stay at the top. Phire wasn't afraid to stoop to less than acceptable business practices to keep the company's top spot, though only when it was necessary. This is where Aeion came in, he would break into other competitors and sabotage or steal their information. Doing so kept the competition in check while also making sure there was the bare minimum to not classify Penumbra Tech as a monopoly. During his life as a secretary and thief, one botched heist lead Aeion to discover an astute capability in fighting (a heist where Phire mistakenly said the room was "free of guards"). From then on, he became a hired killer, murdering any high value target in conjunction with thieving. As time passed by, Aeion and Phire grew to consider each other as family: a son and mother relationship. It was then that Phire urged Aeion to apply to Beacon academy. She said that his skills would directly translate to being a hunter, albeit dealing with more Grimm and less humans. Aeion was hesitant to the proposition, but the CEO assured him that all the jobs that he did were swept under the rug. Phire gave the soon to be hunter in training her pocket watch, both a gift and good luck charm. And so Aeion went to Beacon and passed the exams with acceptable scores, and no questions raised about his past either.
Appearance: Aeion is comes in at 5'5, a thin individual with a fair complexion. He has Cyan eyes and often keeps his dull grey colored hair swept to one side. Never found without his favorite dark azure scarf or his pocket watch. He usually wears a simple dark cyan vest over a white shirt, along with a pair of fingerless gloves, grey sneakers and black pants. He also wears a black hooded jacket, with the sleeves rolled up.
Personality: Introverted in every sense, Aeion hates large scale interactions with a burning passion. He prefers more intimate settings, places where he can listen more and throw in his opinions. Surprisingly astute, he remembers routines and habits in spite of his cluelessness to the outside world. Fiercely protective of his team and Phire, he's very quick to defend them. Often caring more about their wellbeing than his, Aeion is even willing to jeopardize his safety for the benefit of others. He however, is a perfectionist. When he makes a mistake, no matter how small, he beats himself up for it rather hard. It can lead to him being unfocused in a fight or even in everyday life. Aeion is also prone to jumping the gun, leaving his assumptions to be either horribly wrong or horribly right.
Relations: Phire Soleil - Essentially a mother figure to Aeion. She cares about his wellbeing, and often chastises him for being working too much or over exerting himself. They're both comfortable enough to maintain both a familial and professional attitude while working, much to the surprise to the rest of the staff.
Abilities/Skills: Aeion's well versed in technology, capable of manipulating all forms of machinery, computers, and the like. His profession as a thief made him rather observant, well versed in reading patterns or habits. Quick on the feet, he often fights semi-aggressively until there is an opening to fully go on the offensive. However, he has horrible endurance, where a few well-placed blows will easily neutralize Aeion. Coupled that with his extreme perfectionism, where even the slightest mishap on the field will cause Aeion to be considerably unfocused and impatient. Instead of his usual passive aggressive style, he instead turns to brute force when frustrated. This obviously leaves him open to attacks and often causes more harm to him than needed. His compassion of his teammates can also push Aeion to do irrational things, which also can severely harm both him and his team.
Weapon: Preface
A very unique weapon for Aeion's profession, it takes the form of a one handed scissorblade. (Think of it like this minus the hook and string.) Where two blades are joined at cross-guard of the blade, operated by a trigger on the hilt which allows the sword to open and close. It's best suited for decapitation and slashing. Preface can switch to a unique bow that uses dust to form the draw string and arrows. Using technology stolen procured from his occupation, it removes the necessity of adding a physical drawstring or arrows. This allows Aeion to travel light, and instead carry dust cartridges. Arrows fired from the bow retain the silence of a regular arrow, but fly faster and hit harder.
Semblance: Blink Derived from his old profession as a thief, secretary, and his constant assumptions, skipping around was natural. Aeion can execute a short distance teleport. (It really isn't a teleport, it's more of moving ludicrously fast from point A to B.) These can be done one after another, however doing so will tire him out, and also leave his aura levels rather low. Aeion cannot teleport through walls - even if they're see through like glass (ironically).
