So, turns out there are 7 close-ups on characters' faces/eyes. 5 characters in total (Ruby gets 3 of them).

Timestamps are based on where in any given V8 chapter (other than the first) the shot can be found.

Ruby:

1. 0:11 - blink (lighting turns from red to white), turn towards the title & backs of OWBYJNR

2. 1:18 - looking up at Atlas, burning first--then glitching to calm (red to white)

3. 1:27 - opening after falling in the water, looking up at the staff as it floats away, she's being pulled down by grimm (apathy(?) arms)

Jaune: 0:36 - holding his sword up along the edge in front of his head, splitting his face, eyes blink open, he prepares to fight, Ren and Nora standing apart facing away from each other in the background

Nora: 0:39 - looks back at Ren, purple lighting flashes across her eyes

Salem: 1:15 - zooming in on her eyes, her dark pupils hold each of the relics (knowledge on her right, creation on her left), she smirks, flames all around

Penny: 1:31 - Colors flash from normal to all red as she fights her hacking

I think the most interesting is the transition from Salem (1:15) to the relics (1:17) to Ruby (1:18). Also interesting is all three times Ruby blinks, but the first two times the lighting goes from red (everything's on fire) to bluish-white (nothing's destroyed).
