My family and I are full timers and have been since the fall, currently living in the Sacramento Valley area for work. As some of you may be aware, it has been extremely hot here (100 ) the last few days and we expect the summer to be brutal.

We've got a 28 foot bunkhouse TT with 30 amp service and a 13.5k AC unit. It seems to only be able to cool to about 10 degrees below the outside temperature, and that's if it is running non-stop. Needless to say, it's pretty problematic when it's 105 outside.

Is it okay to run the the thing non-stop like that? What does everyone else do to cool down in severe heat? We have already tinted the windows and made sure we're sealed up well, but the sites that are available to us don't really have any shade trees.

All I've really been able to do is set up some mist sprayers under the awning and it usually keeps us a little cooler than we would be inside, but there has to be a better solution. I've considered buying a portable AC unit that can be run off of the 15 amp socket on the pole to help out, but it seems like trying to vent the thing would be masturbatory at best since heat would get in through wherever we are venting it from. Not to mention that we're on metered power and that sounds pretty expensive.

Appreciate any and all advice!
