I have a 2016 SR5 4x4 that's basically stock. I'm planning on upgrading the suspension soon (nothing crazy - I don't have the budget right now to go all out). Question is, I'm looking at getting an Airstream Bambi (their second smallest trailer) to purchase in the next year-ish, and its GVWR shows 3500lbs. If I remember correctly, the 4Runner can tow 5000ish lbs. Would I need to upgrade the rear suspension more than I was planning on doing? I was watching a video about a couple who had a current-gen Tacoma 4x4 and they had to beef up their rear suspension for a Nucamp Tab 400 which shows to weigh less than the Bambi. I don't know if they would've had to do the same with the Bambi or not. And I don't know if the Tacoma has a weaker suspension in the back than the 4Runner or not. I'm just wondering if I need to change my plans to accommodate whichever trailer I buy. Sorry if the above is a stupid question - newbie here lol. Thanks in advance :)
