So to start, I've been on here a few times to work on my project Pirates of the Crystal Skies which I'm still working on, but I need a design break from that context of game, as it focuses more on the crew than the character itself. I'm also more fascinated by sci fi at the moment then aetherpunk so shifting gears a bit and will return after working on something else and getting better at game design.
Anyways back to the question here: I'm conceptualizing a game all about Super Soldier. The players would be a squad of super soldiers assigned missions very similar to the mission play style of Lancer.
My idea though was to allow players to work together to create their super soldier program. As in, what kind of funding, tech, psychic powers, magic, etc that the military used to create them and the objectives of that military.
What is everyone's thoughts on a game designed with allowing players to sort of create a large chunk of the narrative like this at character design? Would it work best as a Co op, GM less game?
