The RDd System (currently 7 small pages) started out as a generic fantasy setting, then I hashed out some mechanics in a Star Wars homebrew TRPG (I had just given a friend the 30th Anniversary WEG SWRPG for Christmas, so I was feeling creative), then I adapted the mechanics for the generic fantasy setting (seemed to fit just as nicely), and then I ripped the essence of the mechanics from both settings to make the TRPG engine linked above. I wanted to see if I could write a TRPG on my cell's Samsung Notes program- ^ that's what I got so far.
I was going to call it 'Fastest Slowest Faster System' (FSFS) because of the turn order for actions, but I have had the catchy name of 'Roll Dandy' stuck in my head for a while now. Dandy means something excellent in its class, so I think it fits since my system encourages lots of awesome polyhedral dice mechanics as part of its philosophy.
So right now I guess I just want to see if people think I am moving in a good direction. Once I put some more fine-tuning into the two setting implementations, I will post links to those too so people have more context for the rules. I hope this will be a fun system that people can make lots of hacks of and settings for!
