Day one. The journey begins.

30 years old been drinking at least a 6 pack a day for the past 10 years. Heavy smoker. Having some issues with gastritis so I decided it's time to quit. Weaned off alcohol yesterday and starting a bone broth detox for 3 days today. Smoking until the pack is finished. Slept like shit last night but I'm feeling ok for now. My doc gave me a blood pressure medication that's supposed to help with withdrawals. Gonna try to keep hydrated and drink 8oz of broth 3 times a day to give my stomach time to heal. Then it's on to leafy greens and probiotic rich foods (mmmmmm kimchi and kombucha....) for a few weeks. Throw some meat in there after that and make it a Paleo thing. Probably stay away from red meat for a while though. Not terribly over weight but I wouldn't mind turning all this excess fat into muscle. Find a decent hobby to stay active. Thinking of getting my archery and blacksmithing up to 100. I have a ton of flakey rock in my backyard that would be perfect for arrowheads. Well that's the plan at least. I'll try to keep this updated if anyone's interested. Any advice or insight would be very much appreciated.
