Perhaps this was true historically, but Florida's long-term real estate outlook is apocalyptic. If you can't get insurance, your real estate market is fucked

Great Recession was caused by a credit crisis, which was in turn the result of a poorly-regulated derivatives market. The housing crash was a side effect of that phenomenon, not the cause of it.
